In Reading, students will practice their reading skills with literature and informational text using Readers Workshop skills and strategies at their reading levels. This will also be supplemented with Words Their Way word sorts that can enhance their understanding of spelling patterns.

STEM Exploration (Incoming 1st-8th ) Material Fee $50
Join us for this year's thrilling summer school STEM program! Elementary students in grades 1 through 8 will transform into young scientists and engineers. Dive into hands-on experiments with a week of exciting Lego activities, building mazes and erupting volcanoes. Next, discover the delicious science of cooking by making ice cream, butter, pizza, and no-bake cookies. Math Masters (Incoming 4th) Material Fee $25
This course uses a unique approach to prepare students for the upcoming school year and beyond. The students will develop the ability to use logic to reason through problems. Students will expand and apply their knowledge of operations, by having fun with numbers and developing confidence and speed. Weekly themes and applied activities will be used to acquire math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, problem- solving, fractions, decimals, percentages, and others.

Digital Photography (Incoming 4th-8th) Material Fee $25
In photography class we learn about the basics of photography like angles, zooms, backgrounds, subjects, and focus. If students have access to a digital camera, that is preferable to a phone or a tablet. If you do not have access to a digital camera, then a phone or tablet will work. We have photo challenges where we go for adventures looking for things to take pictures of and then use the basics that we learn in class.
