Reading (Incoming 1st) Material Fee $20

In Reading, students will practice their reading skills with literature and informational text using Readers Workshop skills and strategies at their reading levels. This will also be supplemented with Words Their Way word sorts that can enhance their understanding of spelling patterns.

Discovering Amazing Artists (Incoming 1st-2nd) Materials Fee: $60

In this art program students will establish self-confidence and will develop aesthetic judgement through analyzing and creating art. Students will explore and experiment with different elements of art (line, shape, color, texture, pattern, space, etc.) Students will evaluate the work of famous artists and will communicate responses to their art, like an art enthusiast. Additionally, students will recreate the works of the Great Masters themselves (Georgia O'Keeffe, Monet, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, etc.). Students will tie personal and cultural experiences with the art pieces they create giving them individuality.

Rhythm and Movement (Incoming 1st-3rd) Material Fee $25

Energize your summer with our Rhythm and Movement class! Explore the dynamic world of music through exciting rhythmic activities and creative movement exercises designed to inspire. Join us for a summer of fun, rhythm, and endless creativity!

Tennis (1st- 8th grade - Beginner to Intermediate Skills) Material Fee $15

Intermediate tennis lessons are for tennis players that are caught right in the very middle of the beginner and intermediate levels. Typically, these tennis players have taken tennis lessons in the past, have a basic knowledge of the game and display the enthusiasm to excel.

Chess Wizards (Incoming 1st-8th Grade) Material Fee $35

Offering  challenging chess lessons, exciting tournaments, fun, team activities, and more! If you're brand-new to chess, we'll teach you the basics and get you playing right away. If you're a seasoned checkmate artist, we'll show you new ways to let your creativity show on the chess board. Our interactive curriculum is exactly what children need to challenge their brains. They'll learn skills that will help them thrive both on and away from the chess board! Chess Wizards gives children time to interact face-to-face with friends, improve their critical thinking skills, and learn good sportsmanship. Unleash your brain power! Have Fun! We make learning chess fun both for new and experienced players! Max 14 students per class.

Outdoor Fun and Games (Incoming 3rd - 5th Grade) Material Fee $15

This course will allow students to have fun outdoors while working on their:

  • Gross Motor Skills: to help build strength, flexibility, and agility   
  • Cognitive Skills: to help coordinate their body movements and brain synapses
  • Social Development and Attention Span

Required: Athletic clothing and shoes

Math Masters (Incoming 4th) Material Fee $20

This course uses a unique approach to prepare students for the upcoming school year and beyond. The students will develop the ability to use logic to reason through problems. Students will expand and apply their knowledge of operations, by having fun with numbers and developing confidence and speed. Weekly themes and applied activities will be used to acquire math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, problem- solving, fractions, decimals, percentages, and others.

Spanish Book Club (Incoming 4th-5th) Material Fee $20

The summer book club will be guided by El Chavo, bilingual books.  The book follows the life of Chavo who is the main character, a humble orphan child that lives in a barrel in the courtyard of a housing complex. In each book Chavo tries to do the right thing, but somehow it doesn’t work out. He spends the entire chapters trying to fix his mistakes and it always turns into crazy adventures.  

  • Students will learn new Spanish summer  and book vocabulary 
  • Students will utilize their imagination writing their personalized conclusion each day   
  • We will intergrade daily Spanish active learning activities  Lessons will be differentiated to student ability

Digital Photography (Incoming 4th-8th) Material Fee $25

In photography class we learn about the basics of photography like angles, zooms, backgrounds, subjects, and focus. If students have access to a digital camera, that is preferable to a phone or a tablet. If you do not have access to a digital camera, then a phone or tablet will work. We have photo challenges where we go for adventures looking for things to take pictures of and then use the basics that we learn in class.

Co-Ed Volleyball (Incoming 6th-7th) Material Fee $20

An introductory course in the fundamentals of volleyball including passing, serving, setting and spiking. Students will learn rules and court strategy for playing the game. Emphasis will be on total fitness and recreational skills for leisure and lifetime activities.

Advanced Violin (Returning Students) Material Fee $75 includes violin rental

This fun class is for returning violin students. We will build on what we learned from earlier classes, develop technique, and focus on more advanced repertoire, familiar songs and pop favorites!

Jazz (Incoming 6th-8th) Material Fee $ 15

This high energy dance style combines classical ballet and modern dance techniques with contemporary influences. Dancers focus on rhythm, isolations, flexibility, and strength to enhance their style, coordination and confidence. Dancers will learn how to count to music, learn popular dance moves and memorize exciting choreography.
