1A – Reading (1st – 2nd)
In Reading, students will practice their reading skills with literature and informational text using Readers Workshop skills and strategies at their reading levels. This will also be supplemented with Words Their Way word sorts that can enhance their understanding of spelling patterns.

1B – Writers Workshop (4th – 5th)
In Writer’s Workshop, full class lessons are short and tightly focused on practical real-world issues. Students will write as authors do by learning strategies to choose their own topics and develop their writing using the writing process. Teachers write with their students and share their own work as well. The writing process is based on the idea that students learn to write best when they write frequently, for extended periods of time, on topics of their own choosing.

1D – Young Scientists (K) *Only offered for students who have completed a TK Program and will be entering K in the fall.
Children will work together to explore what a plant needs to survive by preparing soil and planting seeds, make icky, sticky substances while learning about worms, bugs, and other critters, and learn about eggs and the animals that lay them while proving you’re an “eggs-pert” by designing a successful egg-protection capsule in the egg drop experiment. We will have lots of fun while learning and enjoying science!

1H – The Art of Flight (2nd- 5th)
During flight class we will master art of creating the perfect paper plane. Then advance into the flight of rockets and end with floating off with hot air balloons. Students will have fun as they launch their projects into the air and master the art of flight.

1J – Computer Program (3rd - 4th)
Students will be introduced to programming and will explore different programs to create interactive stories, animations, and games. By learning the fundamentals of programming, students will have an opportunity to collaborate, think creatively, and develop reasoning skills. Students of all computer-literacy levels will have a chance to use technology to make their own unique creations.

1K – Chess (1st- 8th)
Coach Ari brings out the very best in every student and encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and critical thinking skills to learn to master the game of chess! It's a high-energy, competitive, and engaging environment! Your child will LOVE their experience!

1L-Discovering Amazing Artists (2nd-3rd)
Students will build self-confidence, hand-eye coordination and will expand their aesthetic awareness through this art program. Each week students will learn the art heritage of famous artists and will recreate their styles in hands-on art projects using a variety of mediums (watercolor, acrylics, pastels etc) . Additionally, students will develop art-related skills and learn about various elements of art (line, shape, color, texture & pattern) like the Great Masters themselves (Georgia O’Keefe, Monet, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, etc.).

1M- S.T.E.A.M Adventures (4th-5th)
Students will experience hands-on activities from their prepackaged science bin
that incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Each week
students work on projects via teacher Zoom that involve critical thinking that will
help them to implement projects and solve problems. Projects include a digital
escape room challenge, working with solar power, chemistry, and an electric-current
art project. Every week is filled with learning opportunities!

1N- Miss Robyn's Summer Sweat Showdown (Fitness Class)
Students will experience a full-body workout that will help them build cardio endurance and strength while learning the importance of physical fitness and how it relates to their health. Each day we will begin with cardio to warm the body up, followed by some stretching. Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be more cardio endurance-based. Tuesday and Thursday will be more strength-based. We will play fitness games and have fun, while getting fit! Every class will end with a 5-10min restorative yoga flow to relax and restore their muscles and minds.
